Interim bail of YouTubers in gambling app case extended till February 16
A sessions court in Lahore on Monday extended the interim bail of YouTuber Rajab Butt, Nadeem Mubarak and others until February 16 in a case related to the promotion of online gambling applications.
Additional Sessions Judge Mansoor Qureshi heard the interim bail petitions of Rajab Butt, Nadeem Mubarak and other accused.
During the hearing, the accused appeared before the court.
The investigating officer requested additional time to submit the case record, upon which the court directed the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) to submit the record and complete the investigation.
The court subsequently extended the interim bail of Rajab Butt and Nadeem Mubarak until February 16.
The NCCIA has registered a case against the accused on charges of promoting online gambling applications.
Strict security arrangements were put in place at the sessions court during the appearance of the YouTubers, and the accused were presented before the court under heavy police security.
Separately, a local court in Lahore could not frame charges on Monday against TikToker Ducky Bhai, Aroob Jatoi and other accused in a similar case involving the promotion of gambling applications.
The hearing at the district courts was adjourned until February 9 as Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo was on leave.
The accused had been summoned for indictment, and charges had already been framed at the previous hearing.
