Rescue workers have successfully evacuated 3,010 people stranded in snow in the upper districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while 942 vehicles were cleared to restore traffic, according to sources on Monday.

Bilal Ahmad Faizi, spokesperson for Rescue 1122, said hundreds of affected individuals were provided on-site medical assistance, while heavy machinery was deployed to clear 60 major roads and highways.

Rescue operations involving 535 personnel and 190 vehicles continued in the Tirah Valley in the aftermath of heavy snowfall.

In addition, 32 temporary rescue points have been established across the affected districts.

“All rescue stations are on high alert, and relief operations are ongoing,” the spokesperson added, urging tourists to avoid unnecessary travel due to adverse weather conditions.
