Pakistan’s participation in T20 World Cup to be decided today
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi is expected to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today (Monday) to consult on whether the national cricket team will participate in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
In addition, consultations with Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar have also been planned.
The national squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup has already been announced, yet questions regarding Pakistan’s participation remain unresolved.
In a firm statement, Mohsin Naqvi said that the board rejects the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) “double standards” over Bangladesh’s request.
Naqvi added that the PCB will follow the government’s decision in its entirety.
Regarding the matter, Federal Information Minister Fawad Atta Tarar said that the consultation process is ongoing and that the public will be informed of any decision once it is made.
