The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has called an extraordinary meeting of foreign ministers to discuss Israel’s unlawful actions and atrocities in Gaza.

The session is scheduled to take place in Jeddah on January 10, sources said.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar is expected to attend the meeting, where Israel’s recognition of Somaliland is also expected to be discussed.

Dar will reaffirm Pakistan’s full support for the sovereignty of Somalia.

The sources said Dar is also scheduled to hold meetings with foreign ministers of other Islamic countries on the side-lines of the conference.

The extraordinary meeting underscores the OIC’s growing concern over Israel’s recent measures in Gaza and its wider implications for regional stability.
