PAF arrives in UK for Royal International Air Tattoo 2025
A robust and well-prepared contingent from the Pakistan Air Force has arrived at Royal Air Force Base Fairford in the UK to represent Pakistan at the Royal International Air Tattoo 2025 (RIAT), one of the largest military air shows in the world.
The PAF contingent includes the latest JF-17 Thunder Block III fighter jets and the iconic C-130 Hercules transport aircraft. This participation not only highlights the professionalism, operational capability and development of the Pakistan Air Force’s indigenous aviation industry, but also a strong demonstration of Pakistan’s defense capabilities.
During the visit to the UK, the PAF’s JF-17 Thunder Block III aircraft successfully performed air-to-air refueling with the help of an IL-78 aerial refueling tanker. This successful exercise fully reflects the long-range operational capability of the Pakistan Air Force and the expertise of its air and ground crews.
The JF-17 Thunder Block-III is a 4.5 generation, state-of-the-art multirole combat aircraft equipped with AESA radar, long-range BVR missiles and other advanced equipment. The aircraft is capable of performing all types of air combat missions and strengthens the national defence to meet the challenges of today.
In the backdrop of the recent Pak-India tensions, the arrival of the PAF’s JF-17 Block-III was eagerly awaited by aviation enthusiasts and defence observers across the UK. The aircraft’s combat capabilities and operational performance have been the focus of global attention, and its participation in RIAT 2025 has become a landmark moment for the aviation and defence community.
In keeping with this year’s theme “Eyes in the Skies”, the Pakistan Air Force’s C-130 Hercules transport aircraft has been decked out in a special artistic livery (colors and designs), which symbolizes Pakistan’s creative potential and operational heritage in the world of aviation. This eye-catching aircraft will be the center of attention at the air show.
The Pakistan Air Force’s participation in RIAT 2025 aims to foster mutual understanding between different countries, exchange experiences, and further strengthen the image of the Pakistan Air Force as a modern, effective and contributing force to global peace and security.
