The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has completed the technical evaluation of bids received for two new Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises, clearing 10 parties to proceed to the auction stage.
According to the PCB, a total of 12 bids were submitted from local and international investors for the two new teams.
After scrutiny by the PCB’s bidding committee, 10 bidders met the technical criteria and were declared eligible for the next phase.
The auction for the two new franchises will be held on January 8, 2026, at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad.
Successful bidders will be able to select team names from a list of cities, including Rawalpindi, Hyderabad, Faisalabad, Gilgit, Muzaffarabad and Sialkot.
PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer congratulated the qualified bidders, saying the strong interest from both domestic and foreign investors was encouraging. He said the expansion of the PSL marked progress towards an important milestone for the league.
