Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed solidarity with the Iranian people on Sunday following an attack on Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, describing it as a grievous loss.

In a statement on social media platform X, PM said the government and people of Pakistan “stand with the Iranian people in their hour of grief” and offered condolences on the ‘martyrdom’ of Khamenei.

The prime minister also highlighted concerns over violations of international law, stressing that “heads of state should not be targeted.” He prayed that “May Allah Almighty grant the Iranian people the courage and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”

The statement reflects Pakistan’s longstanding diplomatic ties with Iran and its emphasis on regional stability and adherence to international norms.
