Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq continues amid border clashes
Pakistan’s military said on Sunday it was conducting a major operation along the border with Afghanistan in response to what it described as unprovoked aggression by the Afghan Taliban regime.
Security sources said the Pakistan Army had blown up an Afghan Taliban post and taken control of a Taliban headquarters during the ongoing Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq.
According to officials, Pakistani forces crossed the border fence near North Waziristan on February 28 and advanced toward the Taliban headquarters in daylight, prompting Afghan fighters to retreat. The headquarters compound was cleared and enemy flags removed, they said.
Security sources said the operation would continue until its objectives were met. They added that Pakistani forces were carrying out the operation in response to cross-border attacks reported on Thursday night, targeting multiple locations inside Afghanistan, including military installations in Kabul, Kandahar, and Paktia, and destroying several check posts.
Pakistan’s Information Minister Atta Tarar said on the social media platform X that hundreds of Afghan personnel had been killed or injured during the operation.
He also reported that numerous check posts, tanks, and armoured vehicles were destroyed and that dozens of locations inside Afghanistan had been struck by airstrikes.
