40 buildings damaged in Tel Aviv following Iranian strikes
At least 40 buildings in Tel Aviv were damaged after Iranian missile strikes hit the city on Saturday, Israeli media reported on Sunday, leaving residents shaken and neighbourhoods scarred by debris.
Sirens echoed across the city as a ballistic missile fired from Iran struck a residential area, sending emergency crews rushing to the scene.
Israeli security forces and rescue workers worked through the aftermath, combing through damaged structures and assisting those caught in the blast.
Authorities said several buildings suffered significant damage from the impact, and many people were hurt in the attack.
In some areas, shattered glass, broken facades and scattered rubble bore witness to the force of the explosion.
More than 200 residents were evacuated from their homes and moved to three hotels across the city as a precaution, according to local reports.
Citing municipal officials, Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that teams were continuing to assess the structural safety of affected buildings.
Security has been tightened in the impacted neighbourhoods, and authorities say they are closely monitoring the situation citywide amid fears of further escalation.
Israel’s national emergency service said at least 20 people were injured in the latest wave of attacks.
Among them is a 40-year-old man who remains in critical condition after suffering shrapnel wounds.
