Mercedes-Benz will feature an advanced driving assistance system co-developed with Chinese tech firm Momenta in nine upcoming models this year, including the electric GLC SUV and S-Class sedan, the company said in a statement on Thursday.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, on an official visit to China this week, tested out the driving system onboard an S-Class sedan in Beijing on Thursday, the company said.

The German automaker said it has been leveraging R&D efforts in China to power its global innovation and vowed to expand technology partnerships with Chinese firms.
