Brad Evans sets new T20 wicket-taking record
Zimbabwe fast bowler Brad Evans etched his name into the record books on Monday by setting a new landmark in T20 cricket.
Evans became the first bowler in T20 history to take at least one wicket in 28 consecutive innings, surpassing the previous record of 27.
The milestone was achieved during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Super Eight match when Evans dismissed West Indies captain Shai Hope.
Earlier, the record was jointly held by Sri Lanka’s Lasith Malinga and Ireland’s Mark Adair, who had taken wickets in 27 successive T20 innings.
Evans’ record, however, faces a potential challenge from Pakistan spinner Usman Tariq, who has already claimed wickets in 25 consecutive T20 innings.
