Leaders across Pakistan mourn loss in Karachi’s Gul Plaza fire tragedy

Leaders from all sections of society expressed deep sorrow on Sunday over the horrific fire in Karachi’s Gul Plaza, calling it a heartbreaking human tragedy.

The tragedy has sparked an overwhelming wave of grief, and people from all walks of life expressed their heartfelt condolences over the tragedy.

In a statement, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) called for strict enforcement of fire safety regulations, stating that the lack of safety measures in commercial centres like Gul Plaza is unacceptable.

The MQM criticised the Sindh government and the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation for failing to provide timely relief to the victims.

The MQM demanded financial assistance for the families of the deceased and comprehensive medical care for the injured.

The party also called for the immediate formation of a comprehensive plan to prevent further such incidents and address safety lapses in Karachi’s commercial buildings.

Jamaat-e-Islami’s Amir mourns loss of lives

Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman expressed his deep sorrow over the fire, calling the loss of valuable human lives tragic.

In a statement, he extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

He also expressed his sorrow over the death of a firefighter, emphasising that the firefighter lost his life while performing his duty.

Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman called for the provision of the best possible medical care for the injured and directed the Al-Khidmat Foundation to immediately take part in the relief efforts.

Jamaat-e-Islami’s Karachi Amir Munam Zafar also expressed his sorrow and called the tragedy heartbreaking.

He raised concerns about the lack of effective safety and administrative measures in Karachi, which have been a serious cause for concern.

He demanded that rescue operations be expedited and that the injured be provided with top-notch medical services.

Mohsin Naqvi expresses condolences

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also expressed his sorrow over the loss of lives in the fire at Karachi’s shopping plaza.

He shared his condolences with the families of the deceased, stating that he stands with the grieving families and offers his full sympathies to the victims.

Mustafa Kamal calls for medical care for the injured

Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal expressed his well-wishes for the speedy recovery of the individuals injured in the fire.

He directed that immediate and quality medical care be provided to the injured.

Kamal also said that the federal government is ready to extend any possible help to the Sindh government in dealing with the aftermath of the incident.
