Murad Ali Shah, Sohail Afridi meeting cancelled ahead of PTI rally
A scheduled meeting between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Suhail Afridi and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has been cancelled.
Murad Ali Shah reportedly apologised for the meeting, which had been set for Monday, according to sources.
The cancellation came ahead of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally in Karachi on Sunday.
Separately, Chief Minister Suhail Afridi alleged that obstacles were deliberately placed in his convoy’s path during his return journey from Hyderabad to Karachi, causing a delay of over seven and a half hours.
In a video message, Afridi claimed that his convoy was diverted onto deserted routes and that he was forced to travel through them before finally reaching Karachi.
Afridi assured supporters that he had arrived in Karachi and that the rally would take place as planned.
Authorities have granted conditional permission for the PTI to hold the rally at Bagh-e-Jinnah, as announced by the Deputy Commissioner Karachi East.
