11 militants killed in security operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Security forces have killed 11 militants in two separate operations in the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military said on Saturday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), an intelligence-based operation was carried out in the North Waziristan district, where six militants affiliated with the Indian proxy Fitna Al Khawarij were killed during a fierce exchange of fire.
In a separate operation in Kurram district, security forces killed five more militants associated with Fitna Al Khawarij, the ISPR said.
The military said weapons and ammunition were recovered from the militants who were involved in terrorist activities, including targeted killings.
President Asif Ali Zardari, Saturday, commended the professional competence of the security personnel and police force for eliminating 11 terrorists of Fitna al-Khwarij in intelligence-based operations in North Waziristan and Kurram districts.
The president reiterated that the efforts would continue till complete eradication of Fitna al-Khwarij, President Secretariat, in a press release, said.
“The role of the security forces and law enforcement agencies in protecting the lives and properties of the nation is commendable,” he added.
