Influenza cases surge across Punjab, hospitals overwhelmed
Influenza is rapidly increasing across Punjab, including Lahore.
In public hospitals in Lahore, every second patient is arriving with flu and fever, but there is a severe shortage of testing kits to confirm the disease.
According to the report, hospital administrations say that diagnostic procedures will begin as soon as the kits are available.
Alongside the smog in Punjab, the influenza virus is spreading, with children and the elderly being the most affected.
Public hospitals are seeing a growing number of patients with flu and fever.
Whether it is Services Hospital or Mayo Hospital, no hospital currently has sufficient kits available for diagnosing the disease.
Services Hospital administration said that kits are extremely limited, but patients are still receiving medical treatment.
Across Punjab, more than 10,000 patients were reported with flu and fever in public hospitals just yesterday.
