All attackers killed in Wana Cadet College assault, no casualties reported

Security forces neutralise suicide bomber and four terrorists in swift operation, ensuring students and staff remain safe

Security forces successfully neutralised all attackers involved in an assault on Wana Cadet College, officials said on Tuesday.

According to security sources, five terrorists, including one suicide bomber, were killed during the operation.

Four additional attackers were eliminated in a targeted response, ensuring the threat was completely neutralised.

The college building is currently being cleared of any explosive devices, including possible booby traps. Authorities confirmed that no students or staff were harmed during the operation.

Security officials described the operation as “successful and precise,” highlighting the swift response that prevented any civilian casualties.

Students, and staff rescued

Earlier, security forces successfully rescued all students and staff from Wana Cadet College following a terrorist attack by Afghan militants, sources said.

Earlier, a video footage from Wana Cadet College in South Waziristan showed security forces successfully rescuing all students and staff.

The terrorists were confined to a specific building within the college, which is located at a safe distance from cadet residences, while security forces have cordoned off the surrounding area.

Approximately 650 individuals, including 525 cadets, were present in the college during the attack.

Security officials said the operation was conducted with extreme caution to ensure the safety of all cadets and staff.

The presence of terrorists inside the college required careful handling to protect the lives of students, the officials added.

In videos released after the attack, rescued cadets could be seen being escorted to safety by security forces.

Rescued students praised the bravery and timely response of the Pakistan Army and other security personnel, stating that the terrorists’ attack was successfully foiled.

One cadet, a Grade 12 student from a modest family in Waziristan, said, “The Pakistan Army built this cadet college to provide us with education, peace, and development. The cowardly terrorists always wanted to deprive Waziristan’s children of education, but they have failed once again and will always fail.”

Meanwhile, the CCTV footage from the college’s main gate has emerged, showing the attack carried out by the militants.

Forensic analysis of a mobile phone recovered from one of the slain militants revealed videos showing the terrorists inside the college and maintaining constant contact with their handlers in Afghanistan.

The attack comes after Afghan terrorists rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into the college’s main gate, destroying it and damaging nearby buildings.

Two attackers were killed on the spot by prompt action from Pakistani army personnel.
