Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will chair an important meeting of the federal cabinet on Saturday morning via video link from Baku to review the proposed 27th Constitutional Amendment, sources said.

According to the sources, the meeting, scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at the Prime Minister’s House, will consider the Pakistan Peoples Party’s recommendations regarding the draft amendment.

If approved by the cabinet, the amendment bill may be tabled in the Senate later the same day.

The cabinet meeting was originally planned for Friday but was postponed due to the political deadlock among coalition partners over the proposed changes.

Sources added that Saturday’s meeting will also include consultations on the government’s future political strategy alongside discussions on the amendment’s key provisions.
