Pakistan thrash South Africa by nine wickets to level T20 series 1-1

Saim Ayub’s explosive 71 not out powers Pakistan to an easy chase after bowlers skittle South Africa for 110.

Pakistan cruised to a nine-wicket victory over South Africa in the second T20 International at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Friday, levelling the three-match series 1-1 after a dominant all-round display.

Chasing a modest target of 111, Pakistan reached the mark comfortably in the 14th over, led by a blistering, unbeaten knock of 71 by opener Saim Ayub, who faced just 38 deliveries.

Sahibzada Farhan contributed 28 runs before falling, while captain Babar Azam remained not out on 11 as Pakistan sealed the win with ease.

Earlier, after winning the toss, Pakistan skipper Agha Salman opted to field first, a decision that paid off handsomely as the home side’s bowlers dismantled the South African batting lineup.

The visitors were bundled out for just 110 runs, with seven of their batters failing to reach double figures.

For South Africa, Dewald Brevis top-scored with 25, followed by Donovan Ferreira (15), Corbin Bosch (11), and Bartman (12).

Pakistan’s bowling attack shone throughout the innings. Faheem Ashraf led the way with an impressive four-wicket haul, while debutant Salman Mirza struck three crucial blows.
