Pakistan thrash South Africa by nine wickets to level T20 series 1-1
Pakistan cruised to a nine-wicket victory over South Africa in the second T20 International at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Friday, levelling the three-match series 1-1 after a dominant all-round display.
Chasing a modest target of 111, Pakistan reached the mark comfortably in the 14th over, led by a blistering, unbeaten knock of 71 by opener Saim Ayub, who faced just 38 deliveries.
Sahibzada Farhan contributed 28 runs before falling, while captain Babar Azam remained not out on 11 as Pakistan sealed the win with ease.
Earlier, after winning the toss, Pakistan skipper Agha Salman opted to field first, a decision that paid off handsomely as the home side’s bowlers dismantled the South African batting lineup.
The visitors were bundled out for just 110 runs, with seven of their batters failing to reach double figures.

With the emphatic win, Pakistan bounced back strongly after losing the opening T20 in Rawalpindi by 55 runs.
The series decider is now set to be played in Lahore, with both sides eyeing a winning finish.
