Oil, gold and gas surge as strait of hormuz closure hits markets

Tensions in the Middle East and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz have driven fuel prices higher, with oil, gas, gold and silver all recording gains.
London Brent crude rose by $1.33 to $82.73 per barrel, the highest level since January 2025.
US crude oil contracts for April are trading at $75.53 per barrel.
European gas prices have increased by 70% since the end of last week.
Gold rose by $71 per ounce to $5,160. Silver increased by $1.24 to $84.72 per ounce.
