85 arrested in crackdown on illegal Afghan nationals
Law enforcement agencies have arrested 85 people during search and combing operations against illegal Afghan nationals in Islamabad, Murree, Chakwal, Jhelum and Attock.
According to officials, nine individuals were taken into custody from the limits of Hamak police station in Islamabad.
In Murree and Kotli, Satyan, three people, including two illegal Afghans, were arrested.
In Jhelum, 171 houses were searched, and 57 illegal Afghans were detained.
In Chakwal, 13 Afghans and two others were arrested.
One illegal Afghan resident was taken into custody from Attock.
Authorities said illegal weapons and drugs were also recovered during the operation.
