Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday met Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Doha, reaffirming their commitment to further strengthening longstanding bilateral relations.

The two leaders reviewed the full spectrum of ties and expressed satisfaction over the steady growth in political engagement between Pakistan and Qatar.

They agreed to expand cooperation across areas of mutual interest, with a focus on translating close relations into concrete economic outcomes.

Sheikh Tamim reiterated Qatar’s intent to elevate economic cooperation with Pakistan to a higher strategic level.

Both sides discussed steps to boost trade, investment, and other mutually beneficial initiatives.

The meeting also covered regional and international developments. The leaders stressed dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful dispute resolution, and agreed to maintain close coordination in multilateral forums on key regional issues.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Chief of the Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir were also present.

In a later post on X, Prime Minister Shehbaz described the meeting as warm and productive, saying talks focused on strengthening brotherly ties and expanding economic cooperation.

He said both countries would continue working together for peace and stability in the region and beyond.

The prime minister renewed his invitation to the Amir of Qatar to visit Pakistan. Sheikh Tamim accepted the invitation, with the visit expected later this year.
