Pakistan’s national hockey team has been called to Islamabad and is scheduled to meet Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) interim president Muhyuddin Wani after iftar on Sunday, officials said.

The meeting comes amid a continuing series of resignations within the PHF. The resignation of PHF treasurer Shahid Pervaiz Bhandara has been accepted after he submitted it to the interim president a day earlier.

Following the acceptance of Bhandara’s resignation, Wani nominated Farrukh Atiq Khan as the new treasurer. The appointment has been made under Rule 18.2.3 of the PHF constitution and will be presented at the next session of Congress for approval.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan hockey team is set to depart from Islamabad Airport on Feb. 24 for the World Cup qualifiers.
