Senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League-N and former federal minister Khawaja Saad Rafique suffered a heart attack and was rushed to the emergency ward of the Punjab Institute of Cardiology in Lahore.

Doctors performed an angioplasty and inserted a stent after finding one blocked artery. Medical staff said his condition improved following the procedure.

According to hospital sources, Rafique was discharged after his health stabilised.

He said he had felt unwell a day earlier and had gone to the hospital for a medical check-up.

“I am feeling better now and am back home after treatment,” he said, thanking doctors for their timely care.
