The Board of Secondary Education Karachi has announced a change in the answer book format for the 2026 annual examinations of Classes IX and X.

According to an official statement, the annual exams for 2026 will now be conducted using a new OMR-style (Optical Mark Recognition) “E Answerbook”.

The board said it has completed all necessary preparations for the new system.

The change is aimed at streamlining the exam process and reducing errors during marking.

The revised answer book has also been uploaded to the board’s official website.

School heads have been requested to download the sample copy and ensure that students of Classes IX and X practice using the new format to avoid any future problems.

The board stated that this practice will help students become familiar with filling out the title page and attempting questions inside the answer book, so they do not face any difficulty during the annual examinations.

Board officials said that the initiative aims to streamline the examination process and facilitate students ahead of the 2026 exams.
