Pakistan will face Namibia in a decisive Group A match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 in Colombo on Wednesday, with qualification for the Super Eight stage hanging in the balance.

Pakistan play their final group match against Namibia, knowing that a victory will secure their place in the next round.

The encounter has taken on added significance after Pakistan’s 61-run defeat to India on February 15.

Weather, however, could play a decisive role. Forecasts predict a 50 to 60 per cent chance of rain in Colombo on match day, with overcast conditions and winds of up to 19 kilometres per hour, raising concerns of interruptions or a washout.

Pakistan currently sit third in Group A with two wins and one loss from three matches.

Their net run rate stands at minus 0.403, lower than that of the United States national cricket team.

If rain forces the match to be abandoned, both teams will receive one point each.

That scenario would take Pakistan to five points, enough to seal a place in the Super Eight stage.

However, an upset defeat against Namibia would see the United States advance instead.

Officials said teams were monitoring weather updates closely as Pakistan looked to keep their World Cup campaign alive.
