At least seven people, including a child and a woman, were killed and several others injured in two separate road accidents near Karachi on Tuesday as rainfall made roads slippery, officials said.

In the first incident, a multi-vehicle collision occurred on the M-9 Motorway near DHA City Karachi during rain, leaving four people dead and several injured.

Rescue teams rushed to the site and shifted the injured and deceased to nearby private hospitals.

A spokesperson for the National Highways & Motorway Police said damaged vehicles were being removed to restore traffic flow on the busy highway.

Inspector General of Police Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon directed senior officers to oversee rescue operations and ensure smooth traffic management.

Authorities said investigations were underway to determine the exact cause of the crash.

In a separate accident, three people, including a woman, were killed when two cars collided near Bahria Town Karachi.

The deceased were identified as Syed Baqar (40), Maryam (35), and Syeda Shuja Fatima (22).

Police urged motorists to exercise caution, particularly during wet weather conditions, to avoid further accidents.
