SC receives report on facilities provided to Imran Khan in jail
A detailed report was submitted by the jail administration in the Supreme Court regarding the facilities being provided to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan in Adiala Jail.
According to the report, Imran Khan has been kept in a special compound at Adiala Jail consisting of seven cells.
A 57-foot-long and 14-foot-wide corridor is located in front of his cell, and a lawn is attached to the compound.
The Superintendent of Adiala Jail stated in the report that the PTI founder is allowed to walk in the lawn, where he reads books and newspapers and spends time in the sun.
The compound has a total capacity of 30 to 35 prisoners.
The report further said that he is being provided access to natural light and fresh air and has been given better-class facilities in accordance with jail rules.
For exercise, he has been provided with a cycling machine and other gym equipment.
Regarding meals, the report stated that breakfast includes dates, walnuts, honey, coffee, porridge, lassi, hot milk, chia seeds and pomegranate juice.
Lunch includes local chicken, mutton, salad and pickles, while at times potato chips, fried eggs and mixed lentils are also served.
In addition, a shake made with almonds, raisins, coconut powder, milk, dates, banana and apple is provided.
Jail authorities told the court that all facilities are being provided under jail rules, and proper security arrangements are in place.
