The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed the participation of Pakistan in all their scheduled ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 matches – including their match against India on February 15 in Colombo.

In a statement, the ICC said it held discussions with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as part of broader engagement aimed at ensuring cooperation and unity among member boards during the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

In a statement, the ICC said both sides recognised the need for “constructive dealings” and agreed to remain committed to serving the best interests of the game with integrity, neutrality and cooperation.

The governing body said it was agreed that all members will respect their commitments to honour the terms of participation for ICC events and to take necessary steps to ensure the tournament’s success.

The talks also addressed the situation involving Bangladesh, with ICC reiterating its commitment to supporting the growth of cricket in one of the sport’s largest markets, the statement said.

It said Bangladesh’s non-participation in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 would not have long-term consequences for the game in the country, which has more than 200 million cricket fans.

The ICC had earlier acknowledged a statement from the Government of Pakistan announcing restrictions on the national team’s participation in the tournament, limiting it to selected matches.

Pakistan are scheduled to play their second match of the tournament against the United States today in Colombo, ahead of a highly anticipated clash with India.

Monday’s announcement followed a meeting involving the ICC, PCB and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

Subsequently, the ICC and BCB confirmed that Bangladesh would not face penalties for missing the tournament and would be given the opportunity to host an ICC event before the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2031, subject to standard hosting procedures and requirements.
