Punjab CM approves new uniform for Lahore Traffic Police
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved a new uniform for the Lahore Traffic Police, with an official notification issued in this regard.
According to the notification, traffic wardens will begin wearing the new uniform from February 14.
In the first phase, the uniform change will be implemented in Lahore.
Under the new dress code, traffic wardens will wear dark blue trousers with a white shirt, while staff performing office duties will also wear a dark blue coat.
Female traffic wardens will be allowed to wear a scarf along with a designated cap.
The notification stated that in the second phase, the new uniform will be introduced in Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Multan and Rawalpindi, while in the third phase it will be rolled out across other districts of Punjab.
Meanwhile, traffic police officials said that electric patrolling vehicles will also be introduced.
These vehicles will be linked with the Safe Cities Authority.
Officials added that the use of electric vehicles will result in savings of millions of rupees in fuel costs.
