President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to tolerance and peaceful coexistence during a meeting with United Arab Emirates Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan.

The meeting focused on promoting dialogue, inclusivity and harmony among diverse communities.

Zardari paid tribute to the leadership of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, praising the country’s national vision of tolerance and human fraternity.

He said the UAE had emerged as a global example of coexistence, with more than 200 nationalities living in unity and mutual respect.

He noted that these principles closely align with Pakistan’s own commitment to interfaith harmony, social inclusion and respect for cultural and religious diversity, as enshrined in the Constitution and reflected in societal traditions.

First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi and Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE were also present.
