National Assembly to meet today with 27-point agenda
The National Assembly will meet at 5pm today, with a 27-point agenda issued ahead of the session.
According to the agenda, a calling-attention notice expressing concern over the number of HIV-positive people in the country — estimated at around 350,000 — has been included for discussion.
The Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council Ordinance, 2025, will be laid before the Lower House, while the Transfer of Railways (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025, will also be presented.
The Export Development Fund Bill, 2026, is scheduled to be introduced in the Lower House.
Several other legislative items are on the agenda, including the National Tariff Commission (Amendment) Bill, the Export-Import Bank of Pakistan (Amendment) Bill, the Pakistan Telecommunication (Re-organisation) (Amendment) Bill, the Life Insurance Nationalisation (Amendment) Bill, and the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (Amendment) Bill.
The agenda also includes the Travel Agencies (Amendment) Bill, the Pakistan Tourist Guides (Amendment) Bill, 2026, as well as the Pakistan Hotels and Restaurants (Amendment) Bill and the Ownership and Management Bill, 2026.
Reports from various standing committees will be presented during the session. A calling-attention notice regarding the alleged illegal transfer of railway land in Mardan will also be taken up.
In addition, a motion of thanks on the President’s address to the joint sitting of parliament forms part of today’s agenda.
