Javed Alam Odho takes charge of post of IG Sindh
In Karachi, Javed Alam Odho formally took charge of the post of Inspector General (IG Sindh) on Wednesday. Upon his arrival at the Central Police Office, the IG Sindh was saluted by a special police contingent.
IG Sindh Javed Alam Odho also met senior police officers posted at the Central Police Office.
IG Sindh also laid flowers at the memorial of police martyrs, “the services of martyrs are a beacon of light for the institution, and the police will continue their responsibilities for the protection of the public”, he said.
Later, the new IG met with Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Haider Shah, who congratulated him on assuming charge and assured him that the provincial government would continue to provide all possible cooperation to the police for law and order.
It was also agreed in the meeting to improve the training of the personnel, increase facilities and make welfare measures more effective.
The Chief Secretary said that the services of the police for establishing peace and stability in the province are commendable.
Javed Alam Odho expressed his determination that effective, transparent and people-friendly policing will be promoted in Sindh and actions against crimes will continue in accordance with the law.
