Javed Alam Odho takes charge as IG Sindh
Javed Alam Odho formally took charge as Inspector General of Sindh Police in Karachi on Wednesday.
Upon his arrival at the Central Police Office, the new IG Sindh was accorded a special salute by a police contingent.
Javed Alam Odho also met senior police officers at the Central Police Office in Karachi.
The IG Sindh also laid flowers at the martyrs’ memorial. “The services of martyrs are a beacon of light for the institution,” he said, pledging that the police would continue to protect public life and property.
Later, the new IG met Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Haider Shah, who congratulated him on assuming the charge and assured him that the provincial government would continue to provide all possible cooperation to the police for law and order.
Both sides also agreed to improve the training of police personnel, increase facilities and make welfare measures more effective.
The chief secretary said that the services of the police for establishing peace and stability in the province are commendable.
Javed Alam Odho expressed his determination that effective, transparent and people-friendly policing will be promoted in Sindh and actions against crimes will continue in accordance with the law.
