UAE President Sheikh Mohamed arrives in Islamabad
UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived in Islamabad on Friday. He was received by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir was also present at the airport to receive him.
UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is also scheduled to meet with top leadership, including President Asif Ali Zardari.
The federal capital is on holiday on the occasion of the visit, while strict security arrangements have been made.
Special security arrangements have been made for the visit. Heavy traffic will be banned from 6 am to 12:30 am.
According to sources, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived in Pakistan on Friday in an official visit to Pakistan. This is his first official visit as President, which is being held at the invitation of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
As soon as it entered Pakistani territory, Pakistan Air Force fighter jets surrounded the UAE President’s plane and gave it an aerial salute.
All aspects of bilateral relations, especially matters related to enhancing cooperation on trade, investment, energy and regional stability, will be discussed in the meetings.
Preparations have been completed to welcome the distinguished guest in Islamabad.
The city has been decorated with national flags, UAE flags, flowers and lanterns, while important buildings like Constitution Highway, Parliament House and President’s House have been specially decorated.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will be welcomed with a red carpet, and JF-17 aircraft of the Pakistan Air Force will perform an aerial salute.
Welcome banners and pictures are displayed across the city, featuring pictures of the Pakistani leadership and the Emirati president.
It is a holiday in the federal capital today and the Islamabad High Court and district courts will remain closed. However, banks, Metro Corporation CDA, Islamabad Administration, Police, IESCO and gas offices will remain open as usual.
At the official level, this visit between Pakistan and the UAE is being described as important for further strengthening bilateral relations.
