The Establishment Division has refused to provide details of assets held by senior police and customs officers, citing exemptions granted to officers in grades 18 to 21.

In a written response, the division said all requests seeking asset declarations under the Right to Information Act, 2017 had been rejected.

It maintained that, despite federal directives, the asset details of the officers could not be made public.

The refusal covers four officers of the Police Service of Pakistan and three officers of the Pakistan Customs Service.

Applications seeking asset details of former National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) director general Waqaruddin Syed, Additional Director NCCIA Karachi Tariq Nawaz, and Collector Customs Enforcement Moeenuddin Wani were also turned down.

The Establishment Division said the officers fall under an exempted category and provided the same response to all applications.

The decision comes despite ongoing investigations against NCCIA officers, with authorities stating that asset information remains unavailable.

Under the Right to Information Act, 2017, any citizen is entitled to request details of assets held by public officials.
