Maryam Nawaz to inaugurate Pakistan pavilion at COP-30 Conference
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has arrived in Belem, Brazil, to formally participate in the Global COP-30 Conference.
The conference, which opened on Monday, will continue until November 21.
She will inaugurate the Pakistan Pavilion at the conference and will also address the gathering on the occasion.
The Punjab chief minister will deliver a keynote address highlighting Punjab’s vision and initiatives for environmental sustainability.
She will focus on the Punjab government’s initiatives in climate resilience, ‘Suthra’ & Green Punjab, promotion of electric vehicles, along with conservation and expansion of forests and wildlife.
On the sidelines of the event, Maryam Nawaz is scheduled to meet global leaders, heads of international environmental organisations and experts to discuss collaborative strategies for climate action and sustainable development.
The Punjab chief minister’s participation in the COP- 30 Conference marks Punjab’s growing role in advancing climate-friendly policies, along with manifesting Pakistan’s firm commitment towards achieving a sustainable and resilient future.
Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Minister for Education Rana Sikandar Hayat and Minister for Local Government Zeeshan Rafique are accompanying her on the conference.
