Prince William avoids Andrew questions, spotlights Earthshot Prize instead

He shifts focus to environmental work amid his uncle’s royal scandal

Prince William chose to steer clear of uncomfortable questions about his uncle, Prince Andrew, during a climate summit in Brazil on November 5.

When asked how he was handling the “change” in his family following Andrew losing his royal titles over his connection to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, William pivoted to highlight his nonprofit work instead.

“I think the Earthshot Prize is a classic example of change,” he told CNN reporter Christianne Amanpour.

“Rather than talk about it, we’re doing it. These people are the true action heroes, and change will come by backing them, not by what I do.”

Prince Andrew stepped down from his Duke of York title last month amid scrutiny over his friendship with Epstein and sexual abuse allegations.

King Charles III later stripped him of his remaining royal titles and asked him to vacate his Royal Lodge residence, referring to him as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.

Buckingham Palace emphasised that the decisions were necessary while Andrew continues to deny all allegations.

Although William has not publicly commented on the matter, sources told E! News that he and his wife Kate Middleton, along with Queen Camilla, fully support the king’s decision.

“Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any forms of abuse,” a palace statement said.
