Pak ambassador meets new US assistant secretary for South and Central Asia
Pakistani Ambassador to the United States Rizwan Saeed Sheikh held talks with newly appointed US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Paul Kapoor on Friday.
During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening Pakistan-US bilateral relations and advancing them into an economically robust strategic partnership.
Speaking after the meeting, Ambassador Sheikh said he was pleased to meet Assistant Secretary Kapoor and congratulated him on assuming his new role.
He said that the talks focused on ways and measures to build and enhance the partnership, which has also been endorsed at the leadership level.
Meanwhile, Assistant Secretary Kapur, in a post on social media, described it as a pleasure to meet the Pakistani envoy, noting that the two “discussed ways to advance the US-Pakistan relationship and make our countries more prosperous and secure.”
The meeting reflects continued efforts by both governments to deepen bilateral cooperation and engagement across strategic and economic spheres.
