Smog and dust levels in Lahore continued to rise on Thursday, pushing the city’s air quality to hazardous levels and keeping it at the top of the list of the world’s most polluted cities.

According to the Air Quality Index (AQI), Lahore’s average reading reached 237, while several areas recorded even higher pollution levels.

The highest AQI of 474 was reported in Barki, followed by 336 on Ravi Road, 322 on Bedian Road, 278 in Allama Iqbal Town, 274 on Mall Road, and 262 on Shalimar Bagh Road.

Environmental experts have warned that persistent smog and suspended dust particles could worsen respiratory and eye-related illnesses, urging residents to wear masks and limit outdoor activity.
