Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed ties the knot, valima to be held in Karachi on Oct 6
Pakistan cricket team’s spinner Abrar Ahmed is all set to begin a new chapter in his life as he officially ties the knot today.
The wedding festivities began last night with a “mehndi” ceremony, glimpses of which went viral on social media, showing the 27-year-old cricketer dressed in a green shalwar kameez.
According to media reports, Abrar’s “nikah” had already taken place earlier, and he will bring his bride home today.
The valima reception is scheduled for October 6 in Karachi.
Abrar made his debut in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in 2017 with Karachi Kings and later earned his Test cap in 2022 against England — a historic series marking England’s return to Pakistan after 17 years.
Sources said Abrar’s marriage was arranged with his parents’ consent, and the match was finalised with mutual agreement between both families.
After the wedding celebrations, Abrar is expected to rejoin the national squad for the upcoming Test series against South Africa.
