Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Saturday announced the launch of a special relief card for flood victims, pledging comprehensive compensation for losses ranging from collapsed houses to damaged crops and livestock.

Speaking at a special ceremony at the Alhamra Cultural Complex, the chief minister digitally inaugurated the Flood Damage Survey Portal and administered an oath to the survey teams, describing them as the “sons and daughters of Punjab.”

She said a total of 2,200 teams, comprising 10,000 members from the Revenue, Agriculture and Livestock departments, the district administration, and the Pakistan Army, would conduct door-to-door assessments across the province.

CM Maryam said the relief package had been designed to cover all major losses caused by recent flooding.

Families whose homes were completely destroyed would receive Rs1 million, while those whose houses were partially damaged would be compensated with Rs500,000.

She added that Rs500,000 would also be provided for the loss of livestock, while farmers owning up to 12 acres of land would be given Rs20,000 per acre.

“These teams are not merely calculating damages; they are performing an act of worship,” the chief minister remarked, stressing that the survey would ensure every rupee of loss was documented.

She directed officials to conduct the process with complete transparency, saying no one should be deprived of their due right, nor should anyone receive what they do not deserve.

CM Maryam further said the government was also making arrangements for the shelter and food of flood-affected families during the upcoming winter, adding that she was determined to ensure every affected individual’s loss was fully compensated.
