Judicial magistrate orders PTI leader’s arrest and production before court
A district and sessions court in Islamabad on Monday issued an arrest warrant for former Sindh governor and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Ismail in connection with the Azadi March case.
Judicial Magistrate Mubashir Hassan Chishti directed authorities to arrest Ismail and produce him before the court.
The PTI leader has been named as an accused in a case registered at Bara Kahu police station.
The case pertains to the 2022 Azadi March organised by PTI, during which multiple party leaders were nominated.
While the party founder and several senior PTI leaders have already been acquitted in the matter, proceedings against Imran Ismail remain pending.
