Emmy-nominated Robin Wright shares insights on “Wonder Woman” filming experience
Emmy-nominated actor Robin Wright, known for her role as General Antiope in DC’s “Wonder Women”, recently shared her experiences filming the warrior role at the age of 50 during a virtual interview with foreign publication.
Wright portrayed the Amazonian army’s mentor to Gal Gadot’s Diana Prince, recalled the intense training required for the role, stating “We all trained weeks before we started shooting everyday of the week”.
She emphasised the rigorous regimen, which included weight training a demanding diet of 3,500 calories per day and martial arts and horseback riding training.
Reflecting on her experience, Wright noted “I was in the best shape of my life… I was like, god- I’ll never be in that kind of shape again. It was amazing”.
“Wonder Woman”, directed by Patty Jenkins also featured an ensemble cast including Chris Pine, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Connie Nielsen and Elena Anaya.
The film received critical acclaim for its visuals, directions, performances and action sequences becoming one of the biggest box office hits of the year, despite some criticism of its climax.
