Karachi’s Korangi Causeway reopens after two-day closure
The Korangi Causeway was reopened on Saturday after remaining closed for two days due to flooding in the Malir River.
The closure, enforced as a safety measure, had caused severe traffic congestion in Korangi and Defence areas.
According to officials, a temporary embankment was built around the causeway to hold back water and make the route safe for commuters.
The reopening took place under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner and Town Chairman Shah Faisal.
Authorities said the decision to shut the causeway was taken after strong currents in the Malir River made travel hazardous.
With water levels now receding, traffic flow has resumed, bringing relief to thousands of daily commuters.
