Unidentified armed assailants on Saturday killed three men and set their bodies and vehicle ablaze in the Asadullahpur area of Hafizabad.

According to police, the victims included Spain-returned landlord Bawa Muhammad Hussain, police constable Rai Shehzad, and his nephew Muhammad Usman.

The victims were travelling together when unidentified armed assailants intercepted their vehicle near Asadullahpur and opened indiscriminate fire. All three men died on the spot.

The attackers then set the vehicle on fire before fleeing the scene.

Police sources said that Hussain, who had recently returned from Spain on vacation, had a long-standing feud with the Tarar clan in his village.

The rivalry escalated months earlier when Hussain’s nephew allegedly killed a member of the rival group.

The charred bodies were shifted to the hospital for post-mortem, while police launched an investigation and a search operation to trace the culprits.
