Breakthrough in Degari double murder case: DNA samples obtained from victim’s mother
In a recent update in the investigation of the double murder case that took place in Degari.
In a statement from police stated that after the request from the Serious Crime Investigation Wing, DNA samples of the mother Gul Jan have been collected.
Gul Jan has been arrested after releasing a controversial video statement in which she referred to the murders as a “punishment” according to Balochi customs and traditions, expressing her support for the act.
Police Surgeon Dr. Ayesha Faiz confirmed that hair, blood and saliva samples from Gul Jan Bibi were taken, which were later sealed and handed over to the Serious Crime Investigation Wing. These samples will now be sent to the Punjab Forensic Science Agency for DNA analysis.
According to the police surgeon, DNA samples were taken from the body during the exhumation of the deceased Bano Bibi earlier, so that the relationship between the two could be confirmed.
In earlier development, Gul Jan Bibi herself had expressed her willingness to undergo a DNA test in a video statement, after which this development has come to light.
