Not working to topple KP govt, says Governor Kundi
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor and senior PPP leader Faisal Karim Kundi has said that while he is not working to topple the provincial government, the opposition has every democratic right to table a no-confidence motion.
Speaking on Aaj News’ talk show Rubaroo, Kundi launched a scathing attack on the PTI-led KP government, accusing it of incompetence and failure to address critical security challenges in the province.
“I am not running the provincial government, but if the opposition wishes to bring a no-confidence motion, it is entirely within their constitutional and democratic right,” the governor asserted.
Referring to the recent Swat tragedy, Kundi criticised the provincial leadership for its lack of serious response.
Directing remarks at KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, he said, “He shouldn’t quit politics, but the real question is whether he takes his leadership and party founder seriously.”
Kundi also questioned the much-hyped Billion Tree Tsunami project, asking, “Where are the billion trees?”
Taking a swipe at the chief minister, he said, “He sees the Governor House even in his dreams. If that’s the case, I’m ready to offer him free treatment in Sindh — even without a health card.”
The governor stressed that his relationship with JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman is one of respect, but warned that the PTI government has “handed over the province to terrorists,” which, he said, was a matter of serious concern.
