PTI supporters rally outside IHC to express solidarity with judiciary
Members and supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) gathered outside the Islamabad High Court to show their solidarity with the judiciary on Tuesday. In anticipation of the protest, heightened security measures have been put in place around the court.
Additional police and Frontier Corps units were deployed, along with prisoner vans and armored vehicles stationed outside the High Court. Security forces are on standby to address any emergencies.
PTI leadership voiced their concerns over the lack of a scheduled hearing for the suspension of Imran Khan’s sentence in the £190 million case. They plan to appeal to the court today for an expedited hearing.
Advisor on Information for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Barrister Dr. Safeer, emphasized that a significant protest will take place outside the Islamabad High Court. He called for the 26th constitutional amendment to be overturned and for the founder’s cases to be heard, criticizing the judicial system as ineffective and asserting that delays in justice amount to denial of justice.
He further remarked that the prolonged delays in these cases reflect a lack of credibility and suggest that the objective is simply to keep the founder in prison. He pointed out that the founder poses a challenge to the current government, which fears its downfall with his release.
