KP schools put on security alert after tragic attack in Khuzdar
Following the recent attack on a school van in Balochistan, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has issued a comprehensive security advisory for educational institutions across the province, including Peshawar.
According to the advisory, schools have been directed to establish effective checking systems at entry and exit points, ensure deployment of trained security guards, and install CCTV cameras on premises. It also mandates the formulation of an emergency alert system and a well-defined exit plan.
The advisory further recommends conducting security awareness sessions for students.
Special Secretary Education KP, Qaiser Alam, told Aaj News that the department is coordinating with the district administration and police to develop a robust security plan.
“In the aftermath of the Army Public School tragedy, security has remained a top priority. We have now instructed all District Education Officers (DEOs) to conduct fresh security surveys,” Qaiser Alam added.
He reiterated the department’s commitment to utilising all available resources to ensure the safety of students and staff across the province.
