Pakistan Army shoots down more than six Indian drones in Punjab
The Pakistan Army has shot down six more Indian drones of Israeli origin in different parts of Punjab.
According to official sources, four drones were downed in Okara, while one each was destroyed in Pakpattan and Vehari.
These drone interceptions followed what Pakistan termed as continued Indian aggression. With these recent incidents, the total number of Indian drones brought down by Pakistan has risen to over 35.
Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry’s statement
The Director General, Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, said that all drones are being continuously tracked on radar.
He stated that Pakistan’s air defense system is capable of detecting and targeting even small drones.
He added that drone engagements follow a strict operational procedure, especially in populated areas or near commercial flight paths.
Okara
In Okara, Punjab, the Pakistan Army shot down four Indian drones that entered various areas of the city.
According to sources, debris from one of the drones injured two farmers working in the fields.
The injured individuals were taken to the district hospital for treatment.
Security forces recovered the wreckage and confirmed that the drones were intercepted mid-air with professional precision.
The injured have been identified as Emmanuel, son of Yuhanna Masih (approximately 70 years old), and Badal, son of Benjamin (approximately 16 years old).
Arifwala
In Arifwala, the Army shot down another Indian drone near a village.
The drone crashed in a field about 300 meters away from the residential area and caused no injuries.
Background
Pakistani and Indian forces have exchanged fire on the line of control in Kashmir. However, Pakistan has denied Indian claims that it launched drone or missile attack in India either on Wednesday night or Thursday night.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said on Thursday that India is attempting to fabricate an anti-Pakistan narrative by targeting its citizens, particularly the Sikh community, as part of its Hindutva-driven strategy.
Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar delivered a hard-hitting speech in the National Assembly, stating that the army eliminated 40 to 50 Indian soldiers along the Line of Control (LoC).
